RAIN Engages Faculty of Renewable Natural Resurces Female Students at KNUST to Promote Mentorship and Networking
Rights and Advocacy Initiatives Network (RAIN) with support from ClientEarth collaborated with the Faculty of Renewable Natural Resource (FRNR), of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, to organize a seminar for female students of the faculty.
The aim of the seminar was to create a platform for female natural resources management professionals to share experiences with the young ladies, promote mentorship and networking as part of efforts to improve women’s legal capacity and gender mainstreaming in the forestry and
natural resources sectors. This will further enhance their interest, lead to increased number of women and reduce the gender imbalance in the forestry and natural resource sector.
The seminar dubbed, “the contemporary female and natural resource management” comprised talks and a panel discussion from renowned and astute personnel in the sector selected from NGOs, Government, Private Sector, Academia, and Media
The panel members enlightened the students on career prospects, their rights as young females in the natural resources space and how they could position themselves for the career world.
