ItThe Cocoa and Forest Initiative (CFI) Sensitisation and Alignment Workshops promote sustainable cocoa production and forest conservation by engaging stakeholders, including government agencies, cocoa farmers, and private sector actors.

These workshops align efforts to reduce deforestation, enhance responsible land use, and address challenges like land tenure security and sustainable livelihoods. By fostering collaboration and policy alignment, the initiative strengthens climate-smart agriculture, biodiversity conservation, and long-term forest preservation.

The objectives of the action are to:

  1. Sensitize stakeholders and landscape actors about CFI and what it means in practice
  2. Explore opportunity for discussion, collaboration and alighnment with stakeholders in the area

Specific activities under the projects are:

  1. Organise one district level workshop at Nkawie in the Atwima Nwabiagya District
  2. Organise two community level workshops at Kyirayaso near Nhyinahin in the Atwima Mponusa Distrcit, and Mankranso in the Ahafo-Ano South West District

 

Gower Street 

Specific activities under the projects are:
1. Develop and lead sessions on gender mainstreaming in forest laws and VPA implementation in the ClientEarth ‘Legal Working Group’
2. Organize trainings for approximately 20 women active in the forest sector, focusing mainly on CSOs but also open for women from media, government and the private sector
3. Provide community level support to negotiation of Social Responsibility Agreements (SRA) between forest fringe communities and loggers.
4.Train communities on forest protection and  monitoring.
