Training For 40 Selected Women In The Forestry Sector
Rights and Advocacy Initiatives Network (RAIN) as part of efforts to improve women’s legal capacity and gender mainstreaming in the forestry sector organized a training workshop for 40 selected women from the sector in Ghana.
Participants for this training held at the Royal Lamerta Hotel, were from the media, Civil Society Organizations, timber industry, and government institutions including academic, research and forestry commission.
These women were educated on climate change; focusing on its causes, impacts on the various sectors of the economy, and adaption and mitigation strategies.
The legal session focused on labour laws and pension schemes, while the health session discussed mental health and stress management. Resource persons were from the Environmental Protection Agency, Taylor Crabbe Initiatives and the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital respectively.
